About Program
Indian railway management service (IRMS) is a newly launched service of Indian railways in which 8 erstwhile services got merged, this move was created with the intention to remove the delay in execution of the proposed projects. Earlier, Grade A officers for technical departments was recruited in Indian railways through engineering service examination and for one year it shifted to UPSC CSE wherein students from engineering background were competing with aspirants from every field as eligibility criteria does not require any specialized degree from the student to appear in UPSC CSE examination.
But now it was realized by the government that technical expertise is of paramount in this service and Ministry of railways (MOR) has restored this exam for the aspirants by conducting a separate Mains exam for engineering domain by conducting a separate exam called “IRMS Mains.
Now, since the competition is again concentrated for engineers, as the optional subjects enlisted for IRMS Mains are Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering & Commerce & Accountancy. So, majority of seats (120) of railways are allotted for engineers only and people whose technical knowledge will be getting an edge over others, because prelims exam is a merely qualifying exam and general studies subjects requires only qualifying knowledge to attempt. Once they are done with their UPSC Prelims, they need to compete among their engineering fraternity only and people who posses’ knowledge of technical subjects they will be qualifying for Personal interview.

The course duration is of around 300 hours, and by end of April or May first week course will be completed.
No, there is a seperate course for the CSAT. This course is dedicated for General Studies (Paper-1) for UPSC CSE.
The classes will be conducted as per the schedule detailing the subjects to be taught daily. The class schedule will be uploaded on the student portal before the class and in case of any change in the same students will be informed in advance through message and email.
Videos will be available till UPSC CSE 2023 Prelims exam.
We have a dedicated doubt portal called Ask a doubt available on our Master learner android application where you can directly raise the doubts, and this doubt will get solved with-in 24 hours.
